| What is ADSL and How does it Work?
Asynchronous Digital Subscriber Line, or ADSL, is a new way of sending data along phone lines. ADSL uses these spare frequencies to send and receive information, meaning you don’t need a new line to your house, and you can use the telephone as usual too! Because such a vast frequency range is unused and available for ADSL, a large volume of traffic can move through the phone line, this is referred to as a large bandwidth or more commonly, Broadband.
How fast is ADSL?

This is a “ real “ IP address which can in theory be reached by people with malicious intent. Therefore, you should take the same precautions you would with your modem connection. For security you may with to consider a personal firewall such as that sold by Norton which blocks any unwanted intruders. Customers choosing to have additional or fixed IP addresses supplied for use with mail and web servers should almost certainly introduce security measures.
